Not at all! We accept choristers who have no previous training, as well as choristers who have had years of private lessons or experience.
Dolce l and ll, Cantabile and Encore perform at our self-produced concerts (once in fall, once in spring) at Trinity-St. Paul’s United Church. Primo performs in late January/early February and the spring concert. As children advance through the choir levels, they will be expected to perform at additional concerts and events. For example, Cantabile (intermediate) may perform at 1 or 2 additional concerts or events, and Encore (senior) may perform at up to 6 or 7 additional concerts or events.
Yes, our Encore choir typically tours every year. (alternating provincially, nationally and internationally) Past tour destinations have included: Latvia, England, Germany, Italy, the United States, and Newfoundland. Our Encore Choir is going on a concert tour of Germany and Austria this July (2019).
Please contact our General Manager at manager@youngvoicestoronto.com OR view our registration page to receive fees and payment information.
As we are a non-profit choir, we rely on tuition fees to maintain the high-quality education our members expect from us. Refunds are generally not available. The exceptions are:
– choristers who enroll in September and resign on or before October 15
– choristers who enroll in January and resign on or before February 15
