YVT receives Centennial Grant from Toronto Kiwanis Foundation


Toronto, ON, September 12, 2017 – Shannon Charnock, General Manager, is pleased to announce that Young Voices Toronto (YVT) has received a Centennial Grant from the Toronto Club of Kiwanis Foundation! YVT is one of 100 charities awarded the $2,500 grant in celebration of Toronto Kiwanis’s 100th Anniversary.

“With the generous funding from Toronto Kiwanis, we will be able to further enhance our programs with materials that allow us to go above and beyond basic music making and provide a comprehensive, enriched experience for our choristers,” said Maria Conkey, YVT’s Artistic Director.

Each of the 100 charities awarded a Centennial Grant are also eligible to receive the $40,000 Centennial Impact Award. The $40,000 prize winner will be announced at the Toronto Kiwanis Centennial Gala on Thursday September 21 at 6:30 P.M. at the historic Old Mill in Toronto. Special guests include Mayor John Tory and Senator Art Eggleton.

“The Kiwanis Club of Toronto is pleased to be able to support Young Voices Toronto,” said Hugh Williams, Executive Director of Toronto Kiwanis. “Congratulations (to YVT) for being one of our 100 grant recipients in our Centennial year. More importantly, congratulations for continuing to encourage young people to excel,” Williams said.
